Arabescato Vagli is a prestigious marble from the Apuan Alps (Tuscany), quarried in the Vagli area (province of Lucca). It is distinguished by its white–ivory background crossed by grey veining with frequent greenish nuances and, at times, rosy hints, featuring a high-impact brecciated texture—perfect for statement walls, flooring, and high-end bespoke furnishings.

Design in details → what makes “Arabescato Vagli” unique

Origin: quarried in the Apuan marble basin between Garfagnana and Versilia; the name derives from Vagli. The area is renowned for extensive deposits and high-quality white marbles.

Appearance: an especially bright white background with grey to greenish veining and possible rosy tones; a brecciated structure with light “clasts” and pronounced veins that lend themselves to book-matched compositions. Each slab is unique, offering timeless elegance.

Uses: interior flooring and wall cladding, decorative feature walls, bathroom and kitchen countertops, fireplaces, and staircases. Its visual impact and compact structure make it ideal for large continuous surfaces and open-vein applications.

Finishes: polished and honed are the most common; brushed and similar finishes are also available to enhance the natural texture.

Performance and technical notes

Indicative values (based on laboratory tests on samples): compressive strength ~1472 kg/cm²; flexural strength ~102 kg/cm²; water absorption ~0.54%; density ~2714 kg/m³.

Like all marbles (predominantly calcite), it is sensitive to acids and abrasive substances: the use of a water- and oil-repellent impregnating sealer and neutral detergents is recommended; for kitchen countertops, periodic maintenance should be planned.

Why choose it

Arabescato Vagli combines Apuan tradition with contemporary refinement: its dynamic veining and suitability for book-matching create iconic surfaces, ideal for classic or modern interiors with a strong material identity.
